It was Hurdle Memorial Day at the National Sports Center, where Teachers took on the The Rest in three matches.
In the day’s first match the Teachers 2nd Team ran out 62 – 0 winners over The Rest 2nd Team. David McHugh scored four Try’s, while Ian Morrison, Andre Landy, Heath Robinson, Pat Cooper, Rob Veira and Rich Boyd scored a Try each. Andrew Corriea kicked three Conversions, while Morrison kicked two Conversions and Mike Montgomery kicked a single Conversion.
In the Ladies match up, The Rest Ladies defeated the Teachers Ladies 5 – 1. The Rest Ladies got Try’s from Amanda Swan, Abbey MacPherson, Laura Haynes, Melanie Frigon-Duchaine and Magda Szalapak, while the Teachers Ladies Try came from Mary Pierre Beaudoin.
The Rest 1st Team defeated the Teachers 1st Team 10 – 8 in the final game of the day. Peter Dunkerley scored a Try for The Rest 1st Team, while Rich Holden kicked a Penalty and a Conversion. Chris Way scored a Try for the Teachers, with Greg Fraser kicking a Penalty.
